Defining Asian Eyes

Asian eyes are romantic and delicate in appearance however, they require a different technique when applying eye makeup to make them look their best. With less of an eyelid area, the different structure requires a deeper shade of color for the entire main lid. Eyeliner needs to trail the eyelid as close to the lash line as possible. The brow line needs to be accented with more of a neutral shade rather then a brighter light color to open the Asian eye up.

Here are some tips that should help any Asian woman accent them already dreamy eyes.  Eye shadow creasing is a common problem for Asian women.  In order to eliminate this issue, a good eye shadow primer will help.  Choose a primer that is close to your skin color or translucent.  Apply the primer from lash line to the brow bone.  Do not over do it; a little goes a long way and you do not want your lids to feel too heavy.

Although color can be fun to play with, on Asian women it is best to stick to pale sheer shades, neutral, or cool gray tones.  Apply your favorite shadow from your lash line to half way up your eyelid area.  Use a lighter shade to highlight the brow bone.  A dab of the highlighter color right in the center of your eyelid just a slight bit above the lash line where your pupil would naturally sit will give the Asian eye an extra pop.

Eyeliner plays an important role in defining the Asian eye.  Using eye liner properly will open the Asian eye up and draw attention to them.  Using a black eyeliner, draw a line as close to the lash line as possible.  Liquid eyeliner works better for Asian eyes than the pencil style.  With the lack of lid dimension, it is important to be able to keep your line in proportion with the lid.  Rest the liquid eyeliner applicator right on the actual lashes and use it for your guide with the tip of the applicator slightly touching the lid.  Line the entire top lid and draw the line out slightly past the outside corner of your eye.  Applying liner to the bottom lid can close the eye back up.  Instead of using eyeliner, take a small eye contour brush and apply a thin line of the dark eye shadow you used on your lids.

It is a good idea to give your lashes a bit of a curl with an eyelash curler before applying mascara.  Using quality mascara like Joy Lorraine’s, start at the root of your eyelashes and work upward to the tips of your lashes with black mascara.  Apply at least two coats however allow them to dry completely between coats.  The bottom lashes only need a light brushing.

With these simple tips, you can bring your Asian eyes out and show the world just how beautiful your eyes really are.
