To begin creating the perfect pout, first exfoliate your lips to soften them, and to give your lips a smooth appearance prior to applying lipstick or lip gloss. Gently rub a soft toothbrush over your top and bottom lips for a few seconds, rinse with warm water and pat dry with a soft tissue. Your lips are now ready to begin their transformation.
Before applying any color to your lips, you want to begin by making your lips a neutral color. This can be achieved through a touch of foundation or a lip stain that corrects lip color imperfections. Gently apply with a brush or puff until the entire lip, both top and bottom is the natural color of your skin.
Always use a good quality lip liner that won’t allow your lip color to bleed later in the day. Start by lining your top lip first. If you have thin lips, draw the line just outside your natural lip line. If your lips seem too full to you, you can thin them by drawing just inside the lip line. The perfect pout does include a cupid’s bow on the top lip. Simply create your own with your lip liner if yours is not naturally noticeable. A slight cupid’s bow is as dramatic as a natural one. If you have one that is too prominent, you can draw the lip liner to reduce its appearance.
At this point, if you have a lip primer, this is the time to use it. It will give you a smooth base to apply your color. When applying lip color, use one that matches your lip liner. There is nothing more unattractive than a heavy lip liner that stands out from your lip color. Do not press your lips together or rub them together to spread the color. You want it to look smooth without lines or ridges.
When creating the perfect pout, lip gloss is essential. Lip gloss gives the appearance of full, plump lips. Using your lip brush, gently begin by applying in the middle of your bottom lip and work toward the outer edges. Complete by doing the top lip in the same way with your lip gloss.
Now, take a look in a mirror. You have created the perfect pout giving you full plump lips with a wonderful shine and gorgeous color. All you have to do now is smile.
